Emerson reports Deakin’s intern program a resounding success

Thanks to Deakin Business School’s ‘Interns in Industry’ program, Emerson Automation Solutions has ticked the box on several projects that have been outstanding for too long.

Sue Logan, Emerson’s Human Resources Director, jumped at the chance to take four interns from Deakin University’s Faculty of Business and Law when the partnership program initiative expanded from Whitehorse Council to also include the Knox municipality.

Interns in Industry is an annual internship program run between July and September where students complete a business internship with a local eastern region business providing between 100 – 150 hours with that company. A partnership initiative first promoted by the economic development team at Whitehorse Council, 2019 was the first year that Knox businesses have participated in the program.

Bayswater based Emerson is a global technology and engineering company for delivering innovative solutions for customers in industrial, commercial and residential markets. Founded in 1890 it has global sales of around $24 billion and 87,500 employees worldwide.
