Feedback for energising local retail closing soon

Project Manager - Knox Council
We are proposing initiatives to create exciting retail experiences, and drive foot traffic to our retail centres. Have your say on the draft Retail Activation Strategy by 25 February.

Supporting business recovery is a key priority for Council. The draft strategy proposes a range of actions to inject new life and energy into our retail centres over the next three to five years.

Proposed actions include:

  • transforming our untapped spaces into inviting community spaces (e.g. installing seating and fairy lights in Knoxfield alley)
  • turning Knox into the Picnic Capital of Melbourne
  • programming a calendar of events for individual villages
  • opening up our carparks for community events (e.g. food truck festival at Tim Neville Arboretum)

Many of these initiatives need the support from our business community to succeed. We are keen to understand if businesses are interested in getting involved in these initiatives to energise our retail centres.

Further information about the draft strategy is available on our Have your say website.
