Project Description

The provision of a quality assured contract for the demolition of the existing single lane road bridge and the design and construction of a new widened (two lane) road bridge, and associated infrastructure, at the single lane narrow bridge along Blackwood Park Road, adjacent to the Koolamara Waters Reserve, Ferntree Gully.

This includes the following scope of works as detailed in approved Engineering Concept Drawing No. 19/4912-A1:

• Structural design and proof engineering of a two-lane road bridge to accord with Melbourne Water requirements and Councils specifications and obtaining relevant approvals, including Melbourne Water;
• Geotechnical testing for foundation design;
• Construction of a new bridge structure and associated roadworks;
• Supply and installation of mitigation measures as may be identified by Melbourne Water that addresses ecological, flora and fauna issues related to the approval of the design;
• Replacement of guardrail; and
• Removal of some vegetation and identifying vegetation replacement requirements as required following permit conditions.

The prospective contractors shall visit the site so as to be fully acquainted with the physical characteristics of the site before submitting the tender.

Unless specifically exempted by Council in writing, Tenderers for this project must be accredited under the Civil Contractors Federation (CCF) National Prequalification Program, or Council approved equivalent, at the time of submitting a tender.

Tenderers should note this contract will be for a period of eighteen (18) weeks.
